Tell the fans a little bit about yourself.

I’m Corissa Grant, a Creator and Writer of Worthy Chaos. I’m dyslexic, and a female gamer that fell in love with Resident evil 2 so much, I roleplayed as Claire Redfield for 15 years. During that time my writing skills went from one liners to now 3-6k words a sitting. While roleplaying with my co-writer we wrote 13 novels for Worthy Chaos, just for fun, and now I’m turning those into comic book issues!

It’s been months since we last connected. What’s been going on with you?

We are now up to issue 11 live on kickstarter, and Aug 5th will be issue 12, which is a double issue of 44 pages and a major turning point in the story. We also have a hardcover available which contains the first 7 issues. A second hardcover is on the way which will be issues 8-12, coming in Sept. But something I’m super excited about is that for the first time ever, I got asked by a large convention to be a guest! I have my first guest spot at the creepycon Aug 2nd-4th in Knoxville TN! You can see my picture on their website! I love it!

Tell the fans about Worthy Chaos.

Worthy Chaos is an extremely fun and adventurous story with demons, angels, zombies, monsters, and fighting your own destiny.  If you like Buffy the vampire slayer, Supernatural, Resident evil, Silent Hill, Horror, and adventure stories, you will love this!

I consider you the “Queen” when it comes to promoting your campaigns. Few work as hard as you to promote your campaigns. What’s your secret?

Obsession and Passionate for the story are the driving force! I cannot get enough of it! I love seeing a finished issue. But my favorite is hearing about how invested readers get with the characters, and how they can’t wait to read the next issue! So, I do it for me, and my readers!

What is the most rewarding thing for you when putting together a new Worthy Chaos?

I’m torn equally between seeing the characters come to live, and hearing how people love reading it as the most rewarding! Both drive me!

I’m curious: What are you reading these days?

Currently, I’m reading Path of the Pale Rider! Amazing story by Laurie Calcaterra with zombies and cowboys! Can’t beat that combo!

You have put a lot into Worthy Chaos, but is there something else you might do in the

future?

I’m pretty much all in for Worthy Chaos, so future projects will be focused on expanding the world of it. I would love to see a Horror Survival Video Game for it, and the biggest goal of them all is an animated series of Worthy Chaos!

What’s your advice to run a successful KS campaign or some pitfalls to avoid?

The best advice I can give is to get on as many podcasts as possible, and give support to other indie creators. Be a huge part of the community! Help other new creators get started! The biggest pitfall is don’t get too comfortable, never stop pushing yourself to get your story out there!

You have a lot of connections and unique ways you market yourself. What are some things creators who are thinking about doing their own thing don’t know about and should?

When I started, I got made fun of for having so much merch…but pretty soon after many asked for my contacts to get those things made! I love sharing how I make or where I buy things, so I’m all for sharing the information! But I do take a bit of joy that now people copy me, rather than make fun of it! Especially plushies! I love my army of plushies, and I know of several others that have made their own plushies for their comics, too! All the merch I bought was because I wanted it! I’m extremely grateful others love it as well!

10. You get the last word. Do you have any closing comments?

I just want everyone to know that if you love something, do it for you, and others will see that passion and will be interested in it, as well. I don’t make comics for others; I make them because I love the story and want to see it created. I’m just lucky enough that others are loving it. If you ever want to find me just search Worthy Chaos anywhere! Especially Kickstarter, as we always have either a live or prelaunch campaign on there! We release a new issue every other month and at least 1 hardcover a year!
