I’ve wanted to do something, “Quiz-Wise,” for at least a year. Long-term, I’d like to do something on YouTube, where I bring a mix of three or four fans and some creators. It would be some topic, and they’d have an idea of what the topics might be so they’d have a chance to brush up.
While the show has a YouTube channel—it’s not entirely where I want to be, and I’m nowhere near to starting something like that. I didn’t want to go that big until I tested the idea and solved any issues beforehand.
I wanted something different that would be smaller, give more attention to the show, and get people to the website. The website will not be an exclusive place where I hype the podcast. It’s other things, like showcasing indies and some columns that are different from other comic-centric websites.
I chose Superman because I am a life-long fan of him and am fantastically enjoying what’s happening in the comics today. As I’ve said, I haven’t been enjoying the current Superman titles this much in years.
It’ll be a mix of questions, and there will be some sort of point system—just for fun. I think “fun” is the keyword. I’ll have some questions on the website ahead of time, and the rest will be on the show. I’ll ask the question with perhaps some background information and fans will need to go to the website for the answers.
That’s basically what it’s like. I think it’s a concept that fans will enjoy—and something different. I’ll see how this first one goes—and maybe do another one in August. It depends on a lot of factors.
I’ll be making some posts soon on the show, mentioning it on the podcast and the show itself. All you fans won’t have to wait too long— it’s in the next couple of weeks.
