Creators!
Creator Page:
Creators I connect with will get a dedicated page on the website. It is your page and can be arranged however you want—within reason.
Once done, updating isn’t hard on my end. Everything will promote you and the podcast more effectively. The idea is to make the website different from other comic book podcast shows.
A tab will be at the top of the page. Next time, you can send new links, information, and art—and I can update your page.
The Home Page gets newsier. Let me know—now and in the future– if you’re guesting on a show or have something special going on. I can run a news blurb:
“[Whoever] just taped a show with the ACME Podcast.”
That then sends them to your Creator Page.
If you want, you can, in the future, plug your page on the podcast website. Something like:
” The FCF has this really cool thing going on… yada, yada, yada.”
Drawbacks:
The page is a privilege—if I decide to take it down for whatever reason, I will. I don’t want to do it for anyone, but I ensure everyone understands.
If you don’t keep me in the loop—you risk getting the page taken down. It’s your responsibility to let me know when something ends. I think it’s unprofessional when someone clicks on something, and it takes them somewhere dead.
If you’re one of those people who are everywhere and doing many things—yes, I’m talking to you, Corrissa Grant, pick the ones you think are the most important.
The whole concept is a work in progress. I may have to adjust if it becomes too wieldy. If and when that happens, I will do my best to contact you.
Eventually, the show will have Spotlight Segments—a couple of minutes where I plug a KS, indie, whatever.
“10 With..”
It is more of a column piece—another way to market you and the show. When I run one, it will link to your “Creator Page” on the website. As I figure things out, it will go in both traditional places as a link—like on Twitter and more untraditional places, like on Linked-In, Substack… and more.
The column has a ” template, ” but I tailor it to each guest. It combines focusing on their current projects, a chance to promote other creators and a way to help creators better market themselves.
The Newsletter:
Ideally, it goes out every Monday. I believe there is enough going on to warrant a weekly newsletter. The newsletter will contain information on the show and the website, and each newsletter will have a section for that week’s: “10 With..”
Past Guests on the Show:
They will also get a page dedicated to all the shows they guested on the podcast. The website will have a guest tab at the top, which takes them to a list of guests, and from there, it goes to your guest page on the podcast.
Guest Appearances on the Show:
If we do future taping, I think KS guests will talk about comics and use them to plug your and KS’s campaigns. I think the podcast was getting watered down about too many things. Besides, I think there are too many places to talk about their KS. Why do it on this podcast?
I am also trying to get ahead of about six to eight shows that are done and ready to schedule.
You might say: My next KS is planned for this “month.” Okay, let’s tape something—maybe six weeks before launch. You launch—I run that show. My intro will be something like:
“ [WHOEVER] is back talking about Superman, and they have another fantastic KS going, and I talk about it. The shows will be done, but my intro doesn’t get attached until right before the show airs.”
